Golfers tee off for a cause, supporting local athletes and coaches through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The 14th Annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Piney Woods West Golf Scramble will take place on Monday, October 21, 2024, at the Bearkat Course, 457 I-45 S in Huntsville. The scramble-style tournament aims to support FCA’s mission of impacting coaches and athletes for Jesus Christ.
The event will kick off at 11:30 a.m. with player check-in and access to the driving range, followed by a welcome and rules briefing at 12:45 p.m. The shotgun start for the 4-person team scramble format will be at 1:00 p.m. Participants will have the chance to compete in Closest to Pin and Longest Drive challenges, as well as enter a raffle. Following the tournament, a dinner and awards ceremony will take place at 5:00 p.m., featuring an athlete testimony.
“The golf scramble is more than just a tournament; it’s a time of fellowship and a great way to support the growth and development of young athletes and coaches in our community,” said Angela Valis, Area Director of FCA Piney Woods West. “It’s always encouraging to see our community come together to support FCA’s work in transforming lives through sports.”
Sponsorship Opportunities
The scramble offers a variety of corporate sponsorships and player packages:
- Golf Ball Sponsor ($2,500): Includes name/logo on golf balls provided to all participants, signage at a tee box, clubhouse entrance, and driving range, and a team of 4 players.
- Hole-in-One Sponsor ($1,500): Tent/hydration station at a designated hole, opportunity for marketing materials, and a team of 4 players.
- Swag Sponsor ($1,500): Signage at a tee box and registration area, plus 4 players.
- Hole Sponsor ($300): Signage at a tee box, with the option to be present at the hole to distribute swag or water.
- Fellowship & Snack Sponsor ($250): Signage at the clubhouse entrance and driving range, plus dinner for two.
- Sign Sponsor ($100): Signage at the clubhouse entrance and driving range.
Player sponsorships range from MVP ($2,500 for 8 players) to Individual Player ($250). Each player sponsorship includes swag, green fees, a golf cart, and dinner.
“All donations and sponsorships for the tournament are tax-deductible, and your contributions make a direct impact on the work we do with coaches and athletes,” Valis said. “We invite businesses, churches, and individuals to be a part of this day of fun, fellowship, and faith.”
