Community fundraiser continues tradition of generosity at H-E-B Huntsville parking lot
HUNTSVILLE, Texas — The 3rd Annual Rays of Hope Donation Drive-Thru Fundraiser will take place Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the H-E-B parking lot in Huntsville. Hosted by Hello Huntsville and Spirit 94.3, this annual drive is once again rallying the community to support local nonprofits with a spirit of generosity and compassion.
This year’s event will benefit SAAFE House, Good Shepherd Mission, HISD Social Services, Care Center Huntsville, and Tomorrow’s Promise Education Foundation. Community members are encouraged to donate clothing, gift cards, baby items, non-perishable food, toiletries, and other essentials these organizations depend on to serve Huntsville-area families.
Specific items needed include:
- Care Center Huntsville: Baby items such as diapers and lotions.
- Tomorrow’s Promise Education Foundation (Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library): Cash donations.
- HISD Social Services: Cash and gift cards.
- SAAFE House: Clothing, household items, non-perishable food items, canned foods, boxed pasta, and toiletries.
- Good Shepherd Mission: Non-perishable food items, canned foods, boxed pasta, and toilet paper.
“Rays of Hope has grown into something special,” said Rob Hipp, founder of Hello Huntsville and the event’s organizer. “Over the past two years, this drive has made a real difference for local nonprofits. We’re grateful to see our community show up year after year, and 2025 is shaping up to be the biggest yet.”
All donors who contribute items or cash valued at $20 or more will receive a limited edition Rays of Hope T-shirt and a swag bag filled with local goodies. They’ll also be entered into hourly raffles throughout the day, with prizes including gift cards, jewelry from Elliott’s Jewelers, Blue Bell ice cream, items from local businesses, and certificates for Double Dave’s pizzas.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., H-E-B will provide free hot dogs for donors and volunteers.
With a considerable amount of money raised last year, the Rays of Hope fundraiser has become a meaningful tradition for Huntsville—showing how everyday acts of kindness can bring hope to those who need it most.
