Press Release from GoBearkats.com
HUNTSVILLE – Officials from Sam Houston announced a future opponent for Bearkat Football on Wednesday, adding a home-and-home series with Oregon State.
The series with the Pac 12’s Beavers will begin with the Bearkats trekking to the Pacific Northwest on November 8, 2025 for a game at Reser Stadium in Corvallis. OSU will return the game with a visit to Bowers Stadium on September 6, 2031.
The Beaver’s trip to Huntsville is the second game on the 2031 slate for Sam Houston with an August 30 game at Tulsa already on the ledger. Next year’s game in Corvallis will be the first time the Bearkats have taken on a Pac 12 opponent in program history, while the Beavers’ trip to Huntsville is the first Power 5 institution scheduled to ever come to Bowers Stadium.
This year’s Bearkats are in the midst of a breakthrough season, sitting at 6-2 overall and 3-1 in Conference USA after a win on Tuesday at FIU. The win over the Panthers made the Bearkats bowl eligible for the first time in program history.
Sam Houston will hit the field next on Tuesday, October 29 when they host Louisiana Tech on ESPNU and the Bearkat Sports Network.
