Bearkats Set for Exciting 2024 Soccer Season with Home and Away Matches

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — The Sam Houston soccer team has unveiled its 2024 fall schedule, featuring seven home matches at Pritchett Field, including three critical Conference USA matchups.

The Bearkats, under the leadership of third-year head coach Sonia Curvelo, finished last season with a 6-7-4 record. In their inaugural year in CUSA, Sam Houston secured a 3-3-2 record in league play and a 1-1 record in the postseason tournament.

Tickets for the upcoming Bearkat soccer season are now on sale and can be purchased online at GoBearkats.com or by calling the Bearkat Ticket Office at (936) 294-1729.

The season kicks off with an exhibition match against Texas Southern on August 9. The Bearkats will then host their season opener against Stephen F. Austin at 7:30 p.m. on August 15.

Following the opener, SHSU will travel to face Houston on August 18 before returning home to play Houston Christian at 7:30 p.m. on August 23. A quick trip to face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is slated for August 25 at 1 p.m., followed by a home game against Incarnate Word on August 29.

September starts with three consecutive road games: against Lamar on September 1 at 7 p.m., ULM on September 5 at 5 p.m., and Rice on September 8. The Bearkats return to Huntsville for two consecutive home games, hosting Southern on September 13 at 7:30 p.m. and opening their CUSA slate against New Mexico State on September 19 at 6:30 p.m.

A challenging stretch of three consecutive conference road games will see the Bearkats at Jacksonville State on September 26, Kennesaw State on September 29, and Louisiana Tech on October 6. The Bearkats then return home to host Liberty on October 10 at 6:30 p.m. and FIU on October 13 at noon.

The regular season concludes with three road matches: at Middle Tennessee on October 20, at UTEP on October 27, and at Western Kentucky on November 1.
