Huntsville, TX – CASA of Walker, San Jacinto, & Trinity Counties, a key advocate for abused and neglected children, is bringing a unique opportunity for parents and children in Walker County with the “All About Kids Expo.” This free event is scheduled for April 20, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Huntsville Church of Christ parking lot. Aimed at providing a one-stop registration for summer camps, activities, clubs, and organizations, the expo promises a day filled with fun, food, and valuable information for the entire family.
The mission of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Walker, San Jacinto & Trinity Counties is to offer trained, court-appointed volunteer advocacy for every child in the custody of Children’s Protective Services, ensuring they find safe, permanent, and nurturing homes. The organization, part of a nationwide volunteer movement initiated in 1977, emphasizes the importance of community involvement in securing a bright future for children.
The “All About Kids Expo” is not only an extension of CASA’s commitment to child welfare but also a celebration of community and the possibilities that collective effort can create for children’s development and enjoyment. The event features an array of vendors, food trucks, and a dedicated fun zone for kids, ensuring a lively atmosphere where families can explore a variety of summer options for their children.
CASA’s efforts in organizing such events highlight their vision of a supportive community where every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and loving environment. In addition to the expo, CASA of Walker, San Jacinto & Trinity Counties hosts other events, such as the successful “Christmas in July BINGO” fundraiser, which raised significant funds to support their mission.
The “All About Kids Expo” is a testament to the power of community and the role of organizations like CASA in fostering environments where children can grow and learn safely. This event offers a practical and enjoyable way for parents to plan their children’s summer activities, all while supporting the broader mission of ensuring the welfare of every child in Walker County.
