Valentine-style fundraiser to support early childhood literacy through Imagination Library
HUNTSVILLE, Texas — Couples and singles are invited to a Valentine-themed fundraising event, Cherish Your Imagination – Sweetheart Showdown, on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at the Walker Education Center.
Hosted by Tomorrow’s Promise Educational Foundation, the event will run from 6 to 10 p.m., with a ribeye steak dinner served at 7 p.m. Organizers describe the evening as both entertaining and meaningful, combining a formal dinner with a Newlywed-style couples game known as the Sweetheart Showdown. Participation in the game is optional, and attendees may also choose to watch.
Cash prizes will be awarded during the evening, including a top prize of $500. The event will also feature live and silent auctions to raise additional funds in support of children’s literacy efforts in Walker County.
Cherish Your Imagination is a new event and does not replace the foundation’s annual Lasso Your Imagination fundraiser. Organizers say the Sweetheart Showdown was created as an additional opportunity for the community to enjoy a night out while supporting early literacy initiatives.
Funds raised will benefit the Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Walker County, which provides children from birth to age five with a free, age-appropriate book mailed to their home each month. According to organizers, proceeds help cover mailing costs, enroll additional children, and expand access to books for families who might not otherwise have them.
Several ways to participate are available, including purchasing a couple’s ticket, sponsoring a table for four couples, or donating items for the live or silent auctions. Gift cards, experiences, themed baskets, services, and unique items are among the donations accepted. Singles are welcome to attend, and organizers say efforts will be made to ensure all guests feel included.
