Chyrel Evans, a member of the Huntsville Memorial Hospital family for 35 years, has been awarded the Dan Wilford Award for her outstanding service. She has worked in Accounting, Business Office, and now Registration, and is described as an integral member of the team who exudes grace. Her positive attitude and persistent politeness make Huntsville Memorial Hospital a wonderful place to work and receive care, as noted by Ian Gibson, Chief Operating Officer.“
Chyrel’s compassion shines through every day,” says Mary Bevier, Chief Financial Officer. She shares an instance when a frustrated patient called her to sing Chyrel’s praises for resolving her bill painlessly, describing her as the best customer service she had ever received. Mary Bevier acknowledges Chyrel as a leader and a friend, whom one can rely on when in need of a shoulder to lean.
Apart from her professional duties, Chyrel is a leader in the community and serves as the President of the Usher Ministry at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist church, where her husband is an Associate Minister. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Grandpersons Center, a local senior center. Chyrel is passionate about serving people and often ministers to the spiritual needs of her coworkers, praying with them in the chapel when asked.
Chyrel is a devoted mother of four children, two of whom she shares with her husband, while she proudly raised her sister-in-law’s children alongside her daughters when her sister-in-law passed away from brain cancer. One of Chyrel’s children, Kyana, is also a Radiology Technologist at Huntsville Memorial Hospital.
