The City of Huntsville will host its 4th of July Celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Kate Barr Ross Park as the community celebrates America’s 250th birthday.
The event begins at 4 p.m. and will include family-friendly activities, food trucks and entertainment throughout the evening. Activities are scheduled to wrap up at 8 p.m., with fireworks beginning at 9:15 p.m.
Activities include:
Petting zoo and pony rides
3-lane bungee jump
Watermelon eating contest
Dunking booth
Face painting and balloon twisting
Food trucks
3-point shooting competition
3-Point Shooting Competition
The City of Huntsville Parks and Leisure Department will also host a 3-point shooting competition during the celebration at the Kate Barr Ross Park basketball court.
Registration: 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.
Competition begins: 4:30 p.m.
Ages: 15 and up
Cost: Free
Limit: First 30 participants
Medals will be awarded for first, second and third place.
Important information
Personal coolers are welcome, but glass bottles are not permitted. Personal fireworks are not allowed in the park.
Vehicles will not be allowed into the park after 8 p.m. Visitors should expect delays when leaving the area after the fireworks show.
Traffic information
Vehicles parked in the lower parking lots near the softball and soccer fields will exit onto Kevin Williams Drive through the main entrance to the park. Vehicles in the upper lots on the north and south side of the youth baseball fields will exit at the light on the north side of the fields.
All traffic exiting the park will be directed north on Highway 75. Traffic leaving the HEARTS Veterans Museum and the Texas Prison Museum will be directed south on Highway 75.
