Summer Splash Out and Back-to-School Giveaway

That Pallet Chick and the New Waverly Public Library will host a free Summer Splash Out and Back-to-School Giveaway for local children and families.
The event will combine end-of-summer activities with free school clothing and supplies. Children can enjoy a giant water slide, Kona Ice snow cones, games, crafts and other activities. Free hot dogs, pizza and drinks will also be available while supplies last.
Families may go inside the library to receive free school clothing and school supplies donated by Target and community supporters. Available items are expected to include backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, folders, binders, glue, scissors and additional classroom essentials.
The event will also include drawings for summer prizes.
Donations needed
Organizers are collecting additional supplies to help ensure local students begin the school year prepared. Current needs include:
- Regular and jumbo crayons
- Colored pencils
- Fine-tip and jumbo markers
- Girls’ and boys’ backpacks, with a particular need for girls’ backpacks
- Composition books
- Pencils
- Elmer’s school glue
- Glue sticks
Donations may be dropped off at the New Waverly Public Library front desk with Chanel. Donors may also contact Kasey Anderson for more information.
