<p>Larry Cook presents his new book, Brushes with History, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the auditorium of the Katy and E. Don Walker Sr. Education Center, 1402 19th Street, Huntsville, TX 77340. The Sam Houston Memorial Museum and Republic of Texas Presidential Library hosts this free event.</p><p>The book explores portrait painter Francis Bicknell Carpenter and includes his diary.
