Unite and Celebrate: Farm Fest 2024 Highlights Local Crafts and Community Spirit

RICHARDS, Texas — The gates of Agape Farms will swing open early at 10 AM on April 27th for Farm Fest 2024, a day-long celebration nestled within the Sam Houston National Forest. This annual event, held rain or shine, promises an engaging mix of entertainment, education, and community spirit, sprawling across the scenic backdrop just west of Lake Conroe.

“We are counting down the days with tremendous excitement. The preparations are in full swing to ensure a memorable experience for every visitor,” said Brandi Chrisenberry, who owns the farm with her husband. The festival, she notes, is as much about fun as it is about fostering connections within the community.

This year’s fest features an extensive lineup of activities that cater to all ages. Highlights include live music from local musicians, an array of food vendors offering farm-fresh produce and artisanal eats, and numerous vendors where local craftsmen and artisans will showcase their skills. Kids can look forward to interacting with animals, plenty of activities and family friendly competitions.

“The essence of Farm Fest is to create a space where families can enjoy a day out in nature, learning about farming and sustainability while having a great time,” Chrisenberry explained. “It’s about creating a bridge between the rural and urban parts of our community.”

Educational tours and demonstrations will run throughout the day, giving attendees a hands-on understanding of agricultural practices. “We have a wool spinner who will demonstrate the art right from the shearing to the spinning. Also, a local blacksmith will showcase his craft, providing a glimpse into the skills that shaped the tools of yesterday and artworks of today,” she added.

The event also dedicates itself to a significant cause each year. This year’s proceeds will benefit Love Heals Youth, a local organization that supports foster children. “Our goal is to impact our community positively. Supporting foster kids and giving them a day to remember is just one way we’re doing this,” said Chrisenberry. She highlighted the partnership with local schools and organizations like The Rise School of Houston, which specializes in education for children with Down syndrome and autism.

Logistics for the day are thoughtfully arranged to ensure a smooth experience for all attendees. “Follow the signs to our Parking Pasture for free parking. We’ve designed the site to be accessible and enjoyable, so everyone can focus on the fun and not the logistics,” Chrisenberry advised.

As the festival approaches, the excitement is evident, not just among the organizers but also within the community. “The turnout and enthusiasm we’ve seen in the lead-up to this event have been nothing short of inspiring,” noted Chrisenberry.

For those looking to join the festivities, tickets are available online and at the gate. The festival organizers encourage visitors to pack picnic items, blankets, and any comfortable gear to enjoy a full day of outdoor activities.
