FCA Celebrates a Year of Growth and Discipleship

FCA Piney Woods West has seen significant achievements in 2024, as it worked to engage, equip, and empower coaches and athletes for Jesus Christ. The organization focused on community events, huddles, and fundraising efforts that reached students, coaches, and families across the region.

Fields of Faith Unites Communities in Worship

This year’s Fields of Faith brought students, coaches, teachers, and families together for a night of worship, messages, and testimonies. Each message was led by either a coach or student, making the evening a testament to the community’s faith and fellowship. The event was inspired by Romans 10:13-15, which emphasizes the importance of sharing the gospel.

FCA Golf Scramble Raises Essential Funds

The fall FCA Golf Scramble Fundraiser successfully raised funds to purchase Bibles, FCA resources, and provide scholarships for camps and retreats. These funds enable FCA to make a meaningful impact across Walker, Houston, Polk, San Jacinto, and Trinity counties, as well as at Sam Houston State University. The event was supported by volunteers, sponsors, and teams, including the Winnie Sandel team, which has contributed for 14 years.

Huddles Thrive Across Schools and Universities

FCA huddles have been an essential part of the ministry, presenting the gospel an average of 12 times per week to over 800 students in the community. Schools and institutions with thriving huddles include: New Waverly ISD, with 130 students attending one morning and 18 committing to Christ; New Waverly Junior High and Alpha Omega Academy, both holding weekly huddles; Huntsville High School, with weekly huddles during lunch; Onalaska High School, which began its huddle this semester; and Sam Houston State University, which hosts weekly huddles and specific team gatherings for softball, golf, and basketball.

Year-End Giving Encourages Continued Growth

FCA Piney Woods West is encouraging supporters to contribute to its mission as the year ends. Donations help fund Bibles, discipleship tools, food and snacks for huddles, scholarships for College Advance retreats and summer camps, and a mission trip to Costa Rica in 2026. Contributions can be made to the general fund at https://my.fca.org/?form=txpineywoodswestfca, staff support, or through memorial gifts. Donations can be sent by mail to FCA PWW, P.O. Box 8683, Huntsville, TX 77340, or made online.
