Austin Taylor Speaks on Hornets’ New Season and Team Dynamics
HUNTSVILLE, TX – On the Hornet Nation Podcast via SHN Sports, host Rob Hipp sat down with the Huntsville Hornets’ Junior quarterback, Austin Taylor, to dive into the prospects of the upcoming football season, experiences in fall camp, and the team’s trajectory.
Taylor shared his enthusiasm for the season ahead. Having overcome injuries last year, he emphasized the renewed energy and strategies that the Hornets have adopted. “Fall camp’s been exciting. We’re integrating new receivers and slightly tweaking our offense. What’s vital for us is establishing strong connections and emphasizing team bonding on the offensive side of the ball. If we bond effectively, we’ll be able to move the ball and score a lot this year,” said Taylor.
He spotlighted a notable addition to the team, running back Trae’Shawn Brown, who recently transferred from Brenham. Taylor praised Brown’s skill set, commenting on his heart, speed, and power which add significant depth to the team’s offensive line-up.
Discussing the fall camp and their recent scrimmage, Taylor highlighted the benefits of their new practice field and the anticipation of playing in the new stadium.
Highlighting areas where the team needs bolstering, Taylor emphasized the importance of capitalizing on opportunities, especially during third-down situations and while in the red zone. He remarked, “Our most significant improvement has been in catching the football and achieving yards after the catch.”
As the team gears up for the season, Taylor is confident that his synergy with receiver Savion Conteh will stand out. “A strong connection with receivers is pivotal for our game strategy. Our ability to connect will set the tone for our performance this season,” he said.
