Paul Trevino and Josh Campbell to bring decades of leadership and innovation to new district-level positions

HUNTSVILLE, TX (April 21, 2025) – The Huntsville ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the recommendation for the administrative promotions presented by Superintendent Dr. Scott Sheppard during their regular monthly board meeting on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.  Mr. Paul Trevino was approved to be the new Assistant Superintendent of Facilities and Operations, and Mr. Josh Campbell was approved as the new Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning and Student Services.

Mr. Trevino has over 25 years of dedicated experience in the field of education. Currently, he serves as the principal of Huntsville High School, a position he has held for the past five years. During his tenure, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, steering the school towards achieving new milestones.  His journey through various educational roles has equipped him with a profound understanding of the academic landscape.  He joined Huntsville ISD in 2019 as the campus principal of Huntsville Intermediate School.  Prior to coming to Huntsville, he served as the Principal of Silsbee High School in Silsbee ISD for four years.  He also spent a number of years in the Jasper and Hempstead school districts prior to Silsbee.

While at Huntsville High School, Mr. Trevino has done more than simply wear the title of “Principal.”  As a firm and fair administrator and an extremely personable and caring educator, he has cultivated countless relationships with students and parents alike.  Working closely with a reliable network of community, business, and faith-based partners as well as committed volunteers, he has managed to garner tremendous support in his efforts to “Build Champions.”  Leading the district’s flagship school is challenging at best, but Mr. Trevino has done so while navigating the many challenges that come with major bond construction projects taking place all around him, and he’s made it look easy.  His first-hand experiences with facilities, operations, and construction logistics will be a huge asset in his new role.  His knowledge of program designs and professional development will also prove to be very beneficial as he steps up to guide and oversee the district’s operations for the child nutrition, transportation, maintenance, and custodial departments.

With nearly 25 years of experience in education and leadership, Mr. Campbell has dedicated his career to fostering an enriching learning environment for students and supporting the professional growth of educators. His journey in the field of education is marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for creating positive change in the school community.  Mr. Campbell is presently the principal of Mance Park Middle School, a position he has held for the last seven years.  Prior to joining Huntsville ISD in 2018, Campbell served as the Director for Student Services for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.  He also served as the Coordinator for Staff Development for the district.

While at Mance Park Middle School, Mr. Campbell’s campus was designated by the Texas Education Agency as a:

2022 Distinction Designation-Comparative Academic Growth and

2023 Top 25%: Comparative Academic Growth

Additionally, in 2023, his campus was designated as a Model PLC School by Solution Tree. To qualify as a Model PLC, a school must:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to PLC at Work® concepts
  • Implement those concepts for at least three years
  • Present clear evidence of improved student learning
  • Provide data on a yearly basis that shows they continue to meet the criteria of the PLC at Work process

During Campbell’s tenure, he implemented numerous initiatives aimed at improving student outcomes and enhancing the overall school culture. His leadership style is characterized by inclusiveness, innovation, and a focus on collaborative problem-solving, all of which will be very valuable to the district’s Teaching & Learning Department.

Huntsville ISD is excited to have both of these outstanding leaders continuing on as Huntsville Hornets.  The district’s future looks promising with their leadership. By leveraging their knowledge and expertise, the entire district stands to benefit significantly.  Both Trevino and Campbell will assume their new roles at the conclusion of this school year.  They will work closely with district leadership to help identify and welcome their replacements.
