From Santa Shop to Food Drives, JSL Continues Supporting Huntsville Families

The Huntsville Junior Service League (JSL) has been hard at work spreading joy and making a difference in the community. With several events and ongoing projects, the organization continues to play a vital role in supporting local families and organizations.

Santa Shop for the Community
On December 9, JSL partnered with SAAFE House to host a Santa Shop, providing community children the opportunity to select gifts for their parents. The event brought holiday cheer and gave families a chance to celebrate the season in a meaningful way.

Food Truck Outreach
Braving the cold weather on December 21, the JSL team assisted with the Food Truck distribution. Their efforts ensured that families in need had access to food during the holiday season, showcasing their commitment to addressing food insecurity in Huntsville.

Ongoing Monthly Projects
In addition to seasonal events, JSL works year-round on several impactful projects:

  • Collecting hygiene items for Huntsville ISD
  • Organizing food donations for Good Shepherd Mission
  • Gathering cleaning products for Hospitality House

Say Yes to the Prom Dress Donations
JSL is currently accepting donations for their Say Yes to the Prom Dress initiative, which provides formal dresses, shoes, evening bags, and new jewelry to local students. Donations can be dropped off at Salon ADK.

Upcoming Mobile Food Truck Events
JSL is collaborating with the Houston Food Bank to bring mobile food trucks to Huntsville. Upcoming dates for the food truck schedule at the Huntsville Church of Christ are:

  • January 25 at 10 AM
  • February 22 at 8 AM
  • March 22 at 8 AM

The organization expressed gratitude to their community partners for helping them serve those in need.
