Celebrating Academic and Athletic Excellence: Lady Hornets’ Remarkable Achievement

Original Article Posted on HornetNation.info.

Three members of the Lady Hornet Cross Country team have distinguished themselves by receiving All-State Academic honors this November. The accolades reflect their exceptional achievements in both athletics and academics.

Elizabeth Hanson and Rosalie Jones have been recognized with the All-State 1st Team Academic honors, while Hannah Heinemann has achieved the prestigious All-State Elite Academic distinction. Their success is a reflection of their dedication to excelling in both their sporting and scholarly endeavors.

To be eligible for Academic All-State, students must be seniors and involved as athletes, student trainers, or managers. They must maintain good moral character and have an overall grade point average of 92 or above from grades 9-12, inclusive of weighted GPAs.

The Academic All-State awards are structured with the Elite Team at the pinnacle, followed by the 1st Team, 2nd Team, and Honorable Mention, based on a near-perfect academic and athletic performance.

Coach Lehman expressed immense pride in the students’ accomplishments. “To see this recognition for these three young ladies makes my heart happy because I know how hard they have worked improving their times on the course and improving their knowledge in the classroom,” she said.
