Anonymous survey asks residents and visitors about interest in hotel, indoor waterpark, convention center, sports facility and entertainment center.
HUNTSVILLE, Texas — The City of Huntsville is exploring the possible development of a new Huntsville Entertainment District that could include a hotel, indoor waterpark, convention center, sports facility and entertainment center.
The city is asking residents, visitors and others with ties to the Huntsville area to complete a brief anonymous survey as part of the early planning process. The survey is being conducted by Hotel & Leisure Advisors, the city’s research partner for the project.
According to the city, the proposed district would be designed around recreation, entertainment and family fun. The survey asks participants where they live and how they travel to or interact with the Huntsville area, including whether they live in Huntsville, visit for leisure, travel for business, attend conventions, visit Sam Houston State University, visit the Texas Department of Criminal Justice or drive through the area.
The survey also asks about potential attractions for a proposed family entertainment center. Options listed in the survey include an arcade, air hockey, batting cages, billiards, climbing wall, escape room, laser tag, miniature golf, mini bowling, ropes course, virtual reality games, zipline and other activities.
City officials said feedback from the survey will help shape future plans for the project.
The survey is anonymous and can be completed online at:
