Festive Fun for All Ages at Huntsville’s Christmas Fair and Parade

HUNTSVILLE, TX – The heart of Huntsville is set to sparkle with holiday spirit this Saturday, December 2nd, as the city hosts its enchanting Christmas Fair. Organized by Main Street and the City of Huntsville Parks and Leisure Department, this free event promises a full day of festive fun from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Key Attractions at the Fair:

  • Train Rides and Santa Photos: Enjoy festive train rides and capture memories with Santa near the Walker County Title Company.
  • Winter-themed Play Area: Experience a winter wonderland at the corner of University Avenue and 13th Street.
  • Children’s Activities: Rather Park will feature bounce houses, letter writing to Santa, cookie and ornament decorating, and reindeer food making.
  • Face Painting and Balloon Art: Free face painting and balloon twisting for extra fun.
  • Holiday Shopping: Over 100 vendors offering a range of products from Christmas decor to handmade crafts.

The fair has become a long-standing tradition, offering a vibrant blend of community engagement and festive cheer.

The fair will also be a shopper’s paradise with University Avenue and 13th Street lined with over 100 vendors. Shoppers can find an array of Christmas decor, gifts, clothing, accessories, and much more. Among the items for sale are handmade body care products, custom t-shirts and tumblers, leather crafts, artisan clothing, and unique collectibles.

Culinary Delights:

  • Savory Eats: Gourmet chicken and waffles, street tacos, tortas, quesadillas, bacon-wrapped hotdogs, fried catfish and shrimp.
  • Sweet Treats: Donut burgers, funnel cakes, cotton candy, home-baked goods.
  • Beverages: Hot chocolate, fresh squeezed lemonade, and kettle corn.

The day’s festivities will conclude with the Lions Club Christmas Parade starting at 6 PM. Santa will take a break from his parade duties to light the Christmas tree at the Walker County Courthouse. The parade, traveling along 11th Street to Ray Black Drive, is a must-see event for all attendees.

The Wynne Home Arts Center will simultaneously host a Gingerbread Reception. Located at 1428 11th Street, it offers an ideal spot to watch the parade while enjoying crafts, snacks, and cider on the porch.

This year’s Christmas Fair and Winter in the Park event in downtown Huntsville is more than a celebration; it’s a showcase of the city’s community spirit and the warmth of the holiday season.
