Clifford Oran Chappell Jr. Oran Chappell passed away on January 23. Oran was born September 14, 1941 at Durant, Oklahoma to Oran and Edna Chappell. Oran graduated from Calera Oklahoma High School with Honors. He graduated Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a B.S. Degree and Sam Houston State University earning his Masters and continued his education at the University of Washington and Oak Ridge Associated University.
Oran met his wife of 60 years with attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where they were both education majors. Oran retired after 38 years as a teacher and administrator, He was proud to be selected as an Outstanding Physics Teacher (1972) by his peers, a Humanitarian award as an administrator, and recognized by his Church for leadership and volunteering. Oran is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Donna and Robert Pusateri and granddaughter Elizabeth of Huntsville, TX.
Visitation will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Smith Memorial Park. A memorial service will be announced at a later date and will be held at Willis Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Willis Methodist Church.
