Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jose Jesus Acosta Jr. March 2, 2000 - May 21, 2026 With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jose Jesus Acosta Jr., who left this world on May 21, 2026, at the age of 26. Jose was a beloved son, brother, friend, student, and entrepreneur whose kindness and hardworking spirit touched everyone who knew him. He was born on March 2, 2000, to his loving parents, Jose Jesus Acosta and Maria Dolores Acosta, who meant everything to him. Jose was known for always looking out for his parents and family with unwavering love, loyalty, and respect.

He is survived by his sisters, Adriana Acosta and Jessica R. Acosta, along with many family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Jose was currently studying Building Engineering at Sam Houston State University, pursuing a future filled with promise and ambition. In addition to his studies, he successfully built and operated his own landscaping business, showing incredible determination, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit at such a young age. Outside of work and school, Jose truly enjoyed life's simple moments.

He loved cooking and grilling for family and friends, spending time outdoors, and fishing whenever he could. He had a kind heart, a generous soul, and was the type of person who could always be counted on. Whether as a wonderful son, a loyal friend, or a caring brother, Jose made people feel valued and loved. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact Jose made on the lives around him will never be forgotten. The family finds comfort in the words of Psalm 23, chosen in his honor: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul..." Jose Jesus Acosta, Jr. will forever be remembered for his strength, kindness, ambition, and the love he gave so freely to others. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 5-9pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, TX, with a rosary beginning at 7pm. The funeral mass will be on Friday, May 29 at 10:30am at St. Thomas Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest at Mayes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery.
