Obituary

Naomi Cromeens Duensing, fondly known to relatives as Aunt Na, passed away on July 22, 2026, at the age of 102 years young. She was born on April 13, 1924, to Alsey Ernest and Esther Heath Cromeens. She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1941 and attended what was then Sam Houston State College. During World War II, she worked for the US Army, when they took over several buildings at Sam Houston for an Army Administration School.

It was at this time that she met, and married LT. Raymont Duensing and they were married on April 10, 1943. After the war, they moved to Lake Jackson, Texas where they owned and operated Duensing Hardware, along with their son, for 39 years. After retiring from their business, she volunteered at Brazosport Memorial Hospital and worked as treasurer of the auxiliary, as well as moonlighting for Weight Watchers.

Naomi and her husband moved back to Huntsville in 1989, where they made their home. She worked at McCaffety Electric for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002 and her son in 2021 respectively. Naomi is survived by many nieces and nephews, spanning many stated including Illinois, Missouri, Wyoming, Delaware, Michigan, as well as Texas. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 9:00 AM and service beginning at 10:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Huntsville.
