Obituary
Tracy Jean Gowing Russell, born on January 17, 1960, in Bryan, Texas, passed away on July 27, 2026. She graduated from Conroe High School in 1978 and went on to attend nursing school, graduating from the UT Health School of Nursing in 1987. Tracy dedicated 27 years to her nursing career before retiring. She was preceded in death by her son, Ethan James Price; her father, Gene Martin Gowing; her mother, Angelina Marie Doran Gowing; and her stepmother, Betty Gowing. Tracy was a loving wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and friend. She was married to Ty Russell for 20 years.
She is survived by her children, Weston Price and his wife, Tobi, and Dylan Price and his wife, Brittany; and by her beloved grandchildren, Dakota Price, Bowie Price, Ridley Price, and Leyten West. She is also survived by her siblings, Stacy John Gowing and Jackie Gowing, Leahnore and Joe Taylor, Joe George and Judy Gibson, Seth and Betty Gibson, and Candis Lynn Sudwischer; as well as her best friend, Penny Avery, whom she considered a sister. Tracy shared a one-of-a-kind bond with Penny that many only wish to experience in a lifetime of friendship. Tracy loved working in her garden, traveling, and especially spending time with her fur babies: Mayo, Charlie, Riggs, and Wednesday. Tracy was our warrior. She never complained throughout 15 years of chemotherapy. Even during the hardest treatments, when she was so sick, she would say, "Those are my grandbabies, and I'm watching them no matter what," and she did. Her grandchildren were one of the most important parts of her life, and she never let anything keep her from them. Tracy will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will never be forgotten. Rest easy, pretty lady, until we meet again. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in her honor: https://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/ Serving as pallbearers: Weston Price, Dylan Price, James Chapman, Bob Gowing, Cade Price, and Todd Stowe. Honorary Heavenly Pallbearer: Her beloved son, Ethan Price, who now walks beside her in Heaven. Psalm 23:1-3 (KJV) "The Lord is my shepard; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."
