Where Culinary Artistry Meets Local Enterprise: A Look into Pinch & Plate

Huntsville, Texas just got a flavorful boost to its dining scene with the opening of Pinch & Plate, an innovative restaurant offering a delightful array of food and unique products. This gastronomic haven is the brainchild of Tiffany Gobble, who shared her journey and the story behind her venture.

When asked about the inspiration behind the name ‘Pinch & Plate’, Gobble had an interesting backstory to share. “We started with Pinch and Dash Trading, initially intending it to be a spice retail and cooking class hub. However, as our journey unfolded, the concept of Pinch and Plate naturally emerged in our commissary-style kitchen. I have a fondness for the artistry of different foods. The name gives us the freedom to explore and fill the gaps in the culinary world.”

Opening a restaurant was not originally in Tiffany’s plan, but as she says, “I always said ‘when pigs fly’, I would open a restaurant. And here we are, flying.” A flying pig figurine now resides in the restaurant, a charming reminder of her unpredictable journey into the restaurant business.

Together with her daughter Lauren and husband, Ken, Tiffany embarked on this challenging but rewarding journey. From significant successes to minor disappointments, she acknowledges the tremendous support she has received from her family.

The restaurant specializes in a simple but satisfying menu offering breakfast and lunch options. Among the highlights are a creative flight of pancakes, a flavorful chicken salad sandwich, and homemade potato chips that Tiffany takes particular pride in. Dessert lovers can look forward to ‘crazy ice creams’, milkshakes, a salad bar, soups of the day, and other delightful surprises.

Pinch&Plate offers a robust salad bar, among other food items.

Despite the busy nature of the restaurant business, the atmosphere at Pinch & Plate remains calm and relaxing, thanks to the thoughtful decor done by Tiffany’s daughter Lauren. “She has done all of the artwork, and it is beautiful,” Gobble proudly states.

Currently, Pinch & Plate operates from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 2 pm. Lunch service starts at 11 am, but breakfast can be ordered throughout the day. They are planning to extend their hours to include dinner service and weekends soon.

In addition to offering an impressive dining experience, Pinch & Plate also retails products from aspiring entrepreneurs. From hot honey to infused salts, each product tells a unique story. Some of these products even find their way into the dishes served at the restaurant, tying the dining and retail experiences together.

As for customer feedback, Gobble says it’s been incredibly positive. She takes great pleasure in seeing customers become regulars and feels that their appreciation of the environment she has created is the best compliment she can receive.

Looking ahead, Gobble hopes to host a grand opening soon and plans to introduce new food items each week. Stay tuned for the exciting culinary journey that Pinch & Plate promises to offer in Huntsville.
