HUNTSVILLE, Texas — CASA of Walker, San Jacinto & Trinity Counties is hosting a Food Truck Friday fundraiser on Friday, October 4, to raise funds for children in foster care. Frank’s Taco Station Food Truck will serve a variety of Mexican dishes, including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, messy fries, and nachos. The food truck will be stationed at McWilliams Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, located at 1233 11th Street, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All items will be available until sold out.

The event offers attendees the option to grab lunch on the go or enjoy their meals on-site. A portion of the proceeds from each purchase will go directly to CASA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for children in the foster care system.

CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, is a vital resource for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers are specially trained to represent the best interests of these children in court, ensuring they have a voice in the legal process. The volunteers visit the children regularly, attend court hearings, and provide judges with critical information that helps in making decisions about the child’s future. CASA’s goal is to help each child find a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.

With hundreds of children currently in foster care across Walker, San Jacinto, and Trinity counties, the need for CASA’s services remains high. These children often face significant challenges, including instability and emotional trauma, and CASA volunteers work tirelessly to ensure they receive the attention and care they deserve.

By attending Food Truck Friday, community members can make a meaningful contribution to CASA’s mission while enjoying a delicious meal. Every purchase will help support advocacy efforts that make a difference in the lives of foster children.

For those unable to attend but still wanting to support CASA’s efforts, donations can be made directly to the organization through their website.
