Event created by local women focuses on faith, encouragement and intentional living
HUNTSVILLE, Texas — A new women’s gathering focused on faith, encouragement and intentional living will take place Saturday in Huntsville, bringing together speakers, guided activities and community connection.
The event, called The Purpose, was created by Samantha Havard and her sister-in-law and is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with doors opening at 9 a.m. It will be held at The Vintage in Huntsville.
Havard said the idea came unexpectedly during a time of personal reflection.
“I really have no clue where it came from,” Havard said during an interview on Good Morning Huntsville. “I remember telling God, ‘No, I do not have time for an event right now.’ Later that day, it just came out of my mouth — ‘Do you want to host a vision board event with me?’ — and once it did, everything just fell into place.”
The gathering is designed to give women intentional time together at the start of the year, combining keynote messages with a hands-on vision board activity. Havard said the goal is to address seasons when purpose feels unclear.
“So often there’s this Pinterest idea that you’ll just know your purpose,” she said. “I don’t think that’s how everyone lives their life, and that can be a really dark place when people feel like they can’t find it.”
Two keynote speakers will lead the event. One is Havard’s mother, Tish Humphrey, who will speak on intentionality and purpose through different seasons of life.
“She’s raised two kids, built a career, run multiple small businesses and has been married for over 40 years,” Havard said. “Her words have spoken life into me and so many others, and I cannot wait to hear her share.”
The second keynote speaker is Kyla Kae Roan, who Havard said has a strong passion for encouraging women in their walk with Christ.
“She loves Jesus, and her passion for others to truly know Him is contagious,” Havard said. “I already know she’ll be preaching.”
Following the speakers, attendees will take part in guided vision board creation, with all supplies provided. Lunch is included and will be prepared by Cooked by Kristin, a Huntsville-based meal prep business. The event will also feature a coffee and energy drink bar and swag bags for each guest. The first 15 ticket holders will receive a branded T-shirt.
Havard said the event is intentionally scheduled earlier in the day to allow women to participate without giving up their entire Saturday.
“I can leave and still be home when my kids wake up,” she said. “We wanted it to work for women in all stages of life.”
Tickets are $45 and available through Eventbrite. Attendance is limited, and Havard said only a small number of tickets remain.
“This gathering has been prayed over,” she said. “If women have been craving encouragement, clarity or just a space to fill their cup, we would love to have them there.”
