Two major events support CASA’s mission to advocate for children in foster care across Walker, San Jacinto, and Trinity counties

HUNTSVILLE, TX — CASA of Walker, San Jacinto, and Trinity County is teeing up and dialing in the holiday spirit early with two exciting events this summer that support their mission of advocating for children in foster care.

The Mudbugs & Mulligans Golf Classic and Crawfish Boil, sponsored by Iron Brothers Metals and Wischnewsky Dodge, will take place Saturday, June 7, with only a few team slots remaining. The tournament kicks off at 9 a.m. at the SHSU Bearkat Golf Course and includes over $5,000 in prizes, a lunch spread, snacks, beverages, and the chance to win a brand-new Wischnewsky RAM Truck for a hole-in-one.

Following the tournament, the fun continues at 6 p.m. with a Crawfish Boil at Wischnewsky Dodge, featuring seafood by The Big E-Z Crawfish & Oyster Bar and live music by The Trent Cowie Band. Registration is $800 per team and includes golf perks plus two tickets per player to the evening celebration.

Later this summer, Christmas in July Bingo returns on Friday, July 18 at the SHSU Lowman Student Center Orange Ballroom. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. with dinner service from 5:15 to 6:15, followed by 15 rounds of high-stakes bingo at 6:30. Sponsored by Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, the evening promises top-tier prizes, silent and live auctions, door prizes, and holiday fun in the middle of summer.

A table for eight is $500, and tickets are available now by calling 936-291-2272 or visiting the CASA office at 2515 Pine Shadows Drive.

Both events raise critical funds for CASA’s work with children who have experienced abuse or neglect, ensuring every child has a trained advocate in court and in life.
