Huntsville ISD announces closure of all campuses and offices on Jan. 26 due to forecasted freezing temperatures and hazardous road conditions.
HUNTSVILLE, TX – ( Friday, January 23, 2026)
Working with local authorities, Huntsville ISD continues to monitor the inclement weather forecasts.
Out of an abundance of caution due to the expected weather conditions this weekend, we have
decided that all Huntsville ISD campuses, facilities, and district offices will be CLOSED on Monday,
January 26, 2026.
With the potential for sub-freezing temperatures and icy/hazardous road conditions, we feel tonight’s
decision to close Monday is the safest decision for our school community at this time, and it allows
parents to make plans in advance. Please understand the weather may impact areas differently across
our 640-square-mile school district. We encourage families to take all necessary precautions, remain
weather aware, and stay safe this weekend.
We will continue to monitor and assess the conditions and make a decision about Tuesday’s operations as soon as possible. All communication will be shared via the mass notification system and posted on the district website (www.huntsville-isd.org) and social media pages.
