With over 30 years in education, Jackson brings seasoned leadership to support continued growth at Mance Park.
The Huntsville ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the recommendation to hire presented by Superintendent Dr. Scott Sheppard during their special-called board meeting on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Mr. Donald Jackson was approved to be the new Principal of Mance Park Middle School. He will replace Mr. Josh Campbell, who was recently promoted to central administration as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning and Student Services.
With over 30 years of experience in education, Mr. Jackson has served as a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. Since 2023, Mr. Jackson has been serving the Alpha Omega Academy in Huntsville, TX, most recently as the Head of School and the Head of Grammar before that. From 2017-2023, he served as the Superintendent of Schools for Grapeland ISD. His administrative experience in Grapeland ISD also included years as a High School and Elementary School Principal. He was an Associate Principal for Jacksonville ISD, and a Principal in Lufkin ISD as well as Woodville ISD. He also spent a number of years as a teacher and coach in the Woodville, Alvarado, and Grapeland school districts.
Mr. Jackson’s goal is to inspire students and educators alike, equipping them with the tools, values, and vision necessary to thrive in their calling, community, and character. Throughout his career he has cultivated and implemented a system of leadership that integrates key character traits – integrity, humility, perseverance, and servant leadership – with the core competencies essential for effective school leadership. He believes in leading with visibility, clarity, and compassion to foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability. Through thoughtful communication and meaningful relationships, he strives to build environments where students and staff can grow, excel, and lead with purpose.

He is the perfect choice to continue the great work of Mr. Josh Campbell and the entire staff of Mance Park Middle School, which has proven successful in completely turning around this once-struggling campus.”
