Experience Gratitude and Fellowship at First Baptist Church’s Thanksgiving Celebration
First Baptist Church of Huntsville will host its annual Thanksgiving service and community lunch on Sunday, November 24, 2024. The tradition, now in its 10th year, brings families and individuals together to celebrate gratitude and fellowship during the holiday season.
Pastor Jason Bay described the service as an opportunity to “enhance the family aspect of a church body and bring people together who are all one in Christ Jesus.” He emphasized that the event provides a welcoming space for those who may not have local family or have experienced loss.
“For people who don’t have other family members to celebrate Thanksgiving with, it’s an opportunity to come and feel part of God’s family,” Bay said. “They’re not isolated, and they can share in a traditional meal surrounded by a loving community.”
The service will begin at 10:45 a.m. and will focus on themes of gratitude and contentment, encouraging attendees to “live with an attitude of gratitude.” Pastor Bay reflected, “It’s not about what we don’t have but about recognizing and appreciating what we do have. That focus makes all the difference in your attitude.”
After the service, attendees are invited to enjoy a free Thanksgiving meal featuring turkey, dressing, green beans, sweet potatoes, and an array of desserts. Volunteers from the congregation will prepare and serve the meal.
“It’s such a great time to see the community and the church family come together, share a meal, and enjoy one another’s company,” Bay said.
The event is open to everyone. First Baptist Church is located at 1229 Ave J. FBC kindly requests you register for the lunch on their website at https://www.fbchuntsville.org.
