Huntsville Leadership Institute Class 43 is collecting donations and supplies to support the local animal shelter’s new facility.
The Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce’s Huntsville Leadership Institute (HLI) Class 43 will be hosting an in-person donation and supply drive on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10 AM – 2 PM at the VeraBank Parking Lot on 11th St to support the Rita B Huff Humane Society of Walker County.
The Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce proudly sponsors the Huntsville Leadership Institute (HLI) class 43. This class is made up of 12 local individuals who are eager to serve their community with the knowledge they learned throughout their 9-month class. HLI was established to foster the development of community leaders from all segments of the Huntsville/Walker County area, specifically to:
- Promote leadership as a public responsibility
- Identify and develop new and emerging leader candidates for community service and improved business practices
- Encourage communication between current and future leaders
- Fill key community leadership positions with graduates
- Develop a large, active group of graduates
As part of the HLI curriculum, each class is charged with the formation of a group project that benefits a local non-profit organization. HLI Class 43 has chosen to support the Rita B Huff Humane Society of Walker County through a monetary donation and supply drive initiative to help welcome them into their new facility on Veterans Memorial Parkway. Over the next 2 months, you will see donation flyers around Walker County displaying the Chamber of Commerce and Rita B Huff logo with a QR Code link to the Rita B Huff Donation Landing Page on their website as well as a QR code to their supply wish list. The HLI Class is also coordinating an in-person donation and supply drive scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10A-2P at the VeraBank parking lot on 11th Street, in front of HEB. Everyone is encouraged to drop off needed supplies for Rita B Huff or swing in and drop off a monetary donation. All supplies and monetary donations will go directly to Riata B Huff Humane Society of Walker County.
