Huntsville native brings long Scouting history and community service
HUNTSVILLE, Texas — Josey Scout Lodge announced the appointment of Billy Cauthen to its Board of Trustees.
Cauthen previously served as an adjunct trustee for the lodge. He grew up in Scouting in Huntsville and has dedicated many years as a volunteer. Lodge leaders said his background and commitment to youth programs make him well suited for the role.
His son is an Eagle Scout and was recognized as the 2024 Robert A. Josey Outstanding Scout.
Outside of Scouting, Cauthen works as director of operations at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home and owns A Better Garage Door Company.
The lodge described Cauthen as having a “servant heart and love for our community and its youth,” noting his appointment strengthens its mission to support Scouting in Walker County.
Josey Scout Lodge, located in Huntsville, serves as a community hub for Scouting activities and events. The lodge provides facilities for meetings, ceremonies and youth programs. More information about its mission and upcoming events can be found at www.joseyscoutlodge.org.
