Camp Cedarbook Texas
Situated near Huntsville, Texas, Camp Cedarbrook Texas is a Christ-centered, Bible-based outdoor program designed to provide a rich and rewarding camping experience for kids entering grades 2 through 12. This camp prides itself on offering an environment that promotes personal growth, spiritual formation, skill development, and stewardship of the environment.
At Camp Cedarbrook Texas, each camper is encouraged to cultivate a personal relationship with God, apply Biblical principles to daily life, and learn to study God’s Word. Beyond spiritual growth, the camp program aims to instill an appreciation for God’s creation, develop new skills, foster self-confidence, nurture leadership abilities, and foster a sense of community through meaningful relationships with other campers and staff.
The 2023 camping season includes Pre-Camp Staff Training in April, a week-long leadership training session for boys and girls (CILT Week) in June, and separate Boys’ and Girls’ camps running concurrently in late June. Each camp week costs $595, with optional activities that may carry extra fees.

Camp Invention: Wonder
Camp Invention: Wonder is an exciting and innovative summer camp program hosted by First Baptist Church Huntsville, located at 1229 Avenue J in Huntsville, Texas. Catering to children entering grades K-6, the camp introduces young minds to the world of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through immersive, hands-on challenges. Spots for Leader-in-Training may also be available for grades 7-9.
Running from July 24 to July 28, 2023, the program operates daily from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. An Extended Day option is also available from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM for an additional $100 per week for those seeking a more flexible schedule.
The 2023 program theme, “Wonder”, is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and foster creativity in young innovators. It provides an action-packed summer adventure focusing on four main areas:
- Problem Solving: Campers will explore physics, design engineering, and art to build their own mini skate park, create DIY riders, and personalize mini skateboards.
- Creativity: As event planners, campers engineer light-up party hats, create bubble art banners, and invent a Party Assistant to bring their celebration plans to life.
- Persistence: Campers will transform their own robot into a unique animatronic stuffie, then use inspiration from nature and the power of intellectual property to protect their creation.
- Entrepreneurship: Campers launch their own pop-up business, make smart financial decisions, and use creative strategies to attract customers to their ultimate pop-up event.

Cork and Canvas in Huntsville is hosting kids art camps June 19-23 and July 10-14. Kids ages 6 thru 8 are 10:00 – 11:30 AM and Kids 9 and up are 2:00 – 3:30 PM.

Huntsville Public Library Summer Reading Program
2023 Summer Reading Program
We are “All Together Now” reading for fun at the Huntsville Public Library. The 2023 Texas Summer Reading Program will have a cool Kickoff registration event on Thursday, June 1. From 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. on June 1, Kona Ice will be at the Library! One free snowcone per person will be given to everyone who registers for the Summer Reading Program while supplies last. The Summer Reading Program is for all ages so adults can get in on the fun, too. Just register at huntsvilletx.readsquared.com or on the READsquared app. The last day to log your reading in the READsquared app is Monday, July 31. Those who complete the program will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a prize. Let’s make literacy fun! Legacy Martial Arts Summer Camp
Legacy Martial Arts, located at 1015 13th St in Huntsville, Texas, offers a comprehensive range of programs including martial arts training for ages 6 and up, an after-school program, and a distinctive summer camp experience.
