Obituary For Glenn Edward Ehlers

Glenn Edward Ehlers, born September 1st, 1947 in Islip, New York, passed away on May 10th, 2023 in Conroe, Texas. As a child, he was an active FFA member along with Boy Scouts of America. He received 3 Grand Champion Ribbons for poultry in high school and received the State of Florida Grand Championship Poultry Award. He also was a young entrepreneur and had an egg route that he would go door to door selling eggs on his scooter. After graduating high school in Zepherhills, FL, he enlisted in the Unites States Army and was a very PROUD Vietnam Veteran. You would rarely see him around town without his Vietnam Veteran hat on and was proudly wearing it upon his passing. He ended up taking advantage of the GI Bill and graduated from the University of South Florida. He started his career with State Farm in 1976 with numerous positions in Winterhaven, Florida, Bloomington Illinois, and ended up in Conroe, Texas as a State Farm agent from 1986 until he retired in 2012. He raised his family in Montgomery, Texas and absolutely loved his community. He loved playing golf, spending time with family & friends, traveling, and watching his grandchildren grow up.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Ehlers. He is also survived by his son, Brian Ehlers, wife Tina, and grandson Lance, his daughter Karen Harwell, husband Roy David, granddaughter Callie, and grand dog Lacey. He was preceded in death by his parents Mervin & Florence Ehlers and brother Robert Ehlers.

A SPECIAL THANKS to the Conroe Recreation Center and his wrinkle room group for all their support for Glenn over the past two years. Rest in peace old man and we will reunite again.
