Obituary For Jimmy Lavelle Haney
Jimmy was born on April 26, 1946, in Quitman, Mississippi, to Francis Ballard and Charlie Haney. Growing up, he forged lifelong friendships and developed a strong work ethic that would serve him well throughout his life.
After high school, Jimmy pursued a career as a crane operator. His expertise and dedication led him to work for esteemed companies such as Brown and Root, Harpster Crane, and ICD.
Jimmy had a passion for life's simple joys. He enjoyed fishing, boating, spending countless hours on the water, casting lines, and relishing nature. He was an avid NASCAR fan, eagerly following the races and supporting his favorite drivers, the Earnhardts! Jimmy also loved old country music, especially artists like Johnny Cash, George Jones, and Hank Williams.
Jimmy's greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to Ruslee Jill Haney with whom he shared many years of love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they built a foundation of strength, resilience, and deep companionship.
In addition to his beloved wife, Jimmy is survived by his three children, Jeremiah Haney, Jimmy Haney, and Vicky Haney, and extended children, Ricki(Sami) Zureik and Matthew(Chasity) Gless. His legacy extends to his cherished grandchildren, Asa Lavelle Haney and Hannah Coyle.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Jackey Haney, who now joins him in eternal rest. He is survived by his brothers, Ray Haney (Shelby Haney), Butch Haney (Linda Haney), Larry Haney (Carolyn Haney), and Ricky Haney, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service in honor of Jimmy Lavelle's life, which will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, located at 10129 FM 1097 Rd.
