Judy McLaren

Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Judy Niederhofer McLaren, who peacefully died after a hard battle with cancer on July 22, 2026. She was born on July 25, 1945, in the Hawthorn community near New Waverly, Texas to Walter and Liane Niederhofer. She married Joe McLaren on November 23, 1966. She lived most of her adult life in the New Waverly area. Upon retirement from Texas Department of Criminal Justice and Walker County, she moved to Conroe, Texas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of New Waverly for most of her life. Judy was also a member of the Conroe Chapter #710 Order of the Eastern, where she held numerous offices. After retirement she spent most of her time taking care of her husband Joe until his passing, as well as caring for her sister Dorothy until she died. Judy loved spending time with family and friends and taking care of her dogs. She lived a life of love, kindness, and unwavering faith.
She is survived by her daughter Amy Alexander and John Bridenstine of Belton; grandson Jacob Alexander and wife Jamie of Austin; grandson Zach Alexander of Temple; sister-in-law Lynn Follis and Harold Sanders of Cypress; sister-in-law Joan Gondesen and husband Johnny Gondesen of Cypress; brother-in-law Charles McLaren of Missouri City and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
She is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, her brother W.D. Niederhofer, her sister Janis Hawkins, and her brothers-in-law Norman Hawkins, Bill McQueen, Harry McLaren, and many dear friends. The family would like to send our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Our Hospice House in Belton, Texas. The love and care she received during her final days was truly a blessing from God. Annie and her staff showed our family and friends so much love and helped us navigate this very difficult time. Visitation will be held on Friday July 31, 2026 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas at 1pm with services beginning at 2pm.
