Huntsville, TX – A crane accident occurred this morning at the construction site of the new Huntsville Independent School District (HISD) football stadium, resulting in damage to a portion of the lower section of the home side bleachers. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and no students were in or near the area at the time of the accident.
The incident took place at approximately 10:30 a.m. during a pre-installation test on the crane. Construction contractor Durotech released a statement explaining that the area was cleared prior to testing and that an investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway. They have not provided further comment until the investigation is completed.
Huntsville ISD issued a districtwide notification to all parents and staff, informing them of the accident and reassuring them of the safety of their students. The school district expressed gratitude that there were no injuries as a result of the incident.

No injuries were reported as the area was cleared prior to testing. An investigation is currently underway. We cannot comment until the investigation is completed.”
