A Night of Honor and Support for Veterans at Walker County Fairgrounds
HUNTSVILLE, TX – Walker County is abuzz with excitement as preparations for the 14th Annual Warrior Banquet are in full swing. This esteemed event, dedicated to honoring and supporting veterans, is set to take place on Thursday, January 25th, 2024, at the Walker County Fairgrounds.
Recently, Tara Burnett from the HEARTS Veterans Museum spoke with Hello Huntsville about the significance of the upcoming banquet. “The Warrior Banquet is a cornerstone event in our community, reflecting our collective commitment and respect for those who have bravely served our nation,” Burnett shared during the talk.
The Warrior Banquet has become a significant event in Walker County. It focuses on aiding veterans, particularly those struggling with PTSD and other challenges often unseen. “Each year, we witness an incredible outpouring of support from our community. It’s more than just a banquet; it’s a symbol of our gratitude and dedication to our veterans,” Burnett emphasized.
The event promises a memorable evening, commencing at 5:30 PM, with a program beginning at 6:00 PM. Guests will be treated to a ribeye steak dinner, expertly prepared by a team from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. “Last year, we welcomed around 1,200 attendees. The banquet isn’t just about the meal; it’s a celebration of community spirit and generosity,” said Burnett.
Burnett also highlighted the Mighty Oaks program, a key beneficiary and host of the banquet. This faith-based organization focuses on providing comprehensive support to veterans and first responders dealing with PTSD, involving both the individuals and their families in the healing process.
Tickets for the event are $55 each, with tables for eight available at $400. Limited sponsorship opportunities are also available, offering various levels of support. The evening will also feature a silent and live auction, with items ranging from modest to high-end, ensuring that there’s something for everyone to participate in.
As Burnett concluded, “The Warrior Banquet is a testament to the strength and heart of our community. It’s a night where we stand united in support of our heroes – our veterans.”

About The Mighty Oaks Foundation
The Mighty Oaks Foundation is a faith-based Veteran service organization that teaches combat Veterans struggling with Post Traumatic Stress how to get beyond combat trauma and live their lives in the manner God intended. Many combat vets are unable to reintegrate back into civilian life, leaving their families to deal with the aftermath of broken homes and suicide at times. By aligning their lives to Biblical principles, these Warriors are able to lead their families, their communities and our nation. Our mission is to serve and restore our nation’s Warriors and families, who have endured hardship through their service to America, and to help them find a new life purpose through hope in Christ and our resiliency and peer-to-peer recovery programs.
