McKenzie’s Organize Concert with Erwin Family in Gratitude for Huntsville’s Support
HUNTSVILLE – Expressing deep appreciation to the Huntsville community, the McKenzie family, owners of McKenzie’s BBQ, are hosting a special concert featuring the Erwin Family on Sunday, February 18th. The event is a thank you from Kevin McKenzie and his family for the overwhelming support they received for Lisa McKenzie’s tumor surgery fundraising efforts.
The concert is scheduled at Cook Springs Baptist Church for 10:30 a.m., with a subsequent performance at First Baptist Church Huntsville at 6 p.m. Dinner will follow the evening concert at First Baptist Church Huntsville, all free of charge. Kevin McKenzie expressed his appreciation for the community’s support in an interview, highlighting how the timing of the event and the fundraiser for his wife Lisa felt divinely orchestrated. “It was just God’s timing,” McKenzie said. “We were just overwhelmed by how much the community has supported this.”
Kevin McKenzie’s desire to give back to the community stems from the generosity he experienced during the fundraising for Lisa’s medical expenses. “The only thing I know is cooking and feeding people. That’s how God has blessed us, and that’s been our ministry,” McKenzie shared, explaining his initial thought of feeding the church as a gesture of thanks. The opportunity to host the Erwin Family added an extra layer of gratitude to the event.
