Obituary For Earl Ray Richter

Earl Ray Richter, age 73, of Willis, Texas passed away on May 3, 2023. He is survived by his
wife of 52 years Shirley Richter of Willis; daughter Jennifer Gilstrap and husband Ryan of Willis;
granddaughter Paislee Gilstrap of Willis; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family
and friends.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ellen Richter of Elm Mott, Texas.

During Earl's time on this earth he was a devoted teacher at Conroe High School for thirty-one
years. He was passionate about teaching US History, Government, and Economics and passed
that passion on to his daughter. He made several life long friends during that time who
remained important to him even after retirement.

The last few months of his life Earl's pride and joy was his granddaughter Paislee. The only
time you could catch him awake and smiling was when Paislee was present.

Pallbearers for Earl will be Michael Splettstosser, brother-in-law, Ryan Gilstrap, son-in-law,
Kolton Splettstosser, great nephew, Logan Havard, great nephew, Brock Hivnor, nephew-in-law,
Bythel Staton, family friend, Ahmed Kawaja, family friend, and Richard Welch, family friend.
Honorary pallbearers are Alfred Schuetz, cousin, Darrin Banik, cousin, Eddie Ray Banik, cousin,
and Jonathan McFerrin, family friend,
Visitation with the family is scheduled for Sunday, May 7th from 5pm-7pm at Sam Houston
Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. Texas
Church service for Earl will be Monday, May 8th at 10am at the First Baptist Church in Willis,
Texas. Graveside will be on May 8th at 2pm at Stryker Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas.
