Adler Family Toys Set to Enrich Huntsville Community with Unique Play and Learning Experience
HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Adler Family Toys, a boutique toy store owned by Shane and Madelyn Adler, is set to open its doors on August 5th, 2023, in the former Avon Theater building located at 1219 Sam Houston Avenue in downtown Huntsville.
The Adlers, both Sam Houston State Bearkats Alumni and current Huntsville residents, along with their four-year-old daughter, Willow, aim to bring a unique, community-oriented shopping experience to the heart of the city.
Unlike the standard fare found at larger retailers, Adler Family Toys will specialize in boutique-style toys, with a focus on educational play and pretend scenarios. This decision comes from the family’s own experience with similar stores in towns like Georgetown and Galveston. The family’s vision for their store is inspired by a store called All Things Kids in Georgetown.
The new toy store will feature products from brands like Melissa and Doug and Mud Pie, among others. It will also offer an array of costume options for kids, just in time for Halloween.
“Having a four-year-old, you know, going to all these different toy stores in Georgetown, Galveston, and other towns we’ve visited, we started thinking Huntsville needed something like that,” said Madelyn Adler.
In addition to providing unique, engaging toys, Adler Family Toys will also serve as a community hub for families. They plan to host story times in a comfortable, soft-lit area, inspired by the family-friendly gatherings they attended in Lago Vista, just outside Austin.
“These gatherings not only allowed our daughter to make friends but also helped me connect with other moms,” Madelyn Adler added. “We wanted to create that same sense of community here in Huntsville.”
The Adlers are actively involved in local business networks, in the process of joining the local Chamber of Commerce and already a part of the Downtown Business Alliance.
Rob Hipp, founder of Hello Huntsville, spoke with the Adlers about their new venture. “We’re all about promoting the good happening here in the community,” Hipp said. “We’re excited to have Adler Family Toys joining our local business scene.”
