Fish Printing

July 27 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Huntsville State Park invites everyone to experience the Fish Printing Workshop every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Day Use area. This unique event introduces guests to the Japanese art of Gyotaku, where participants can create their own fish printing masterpieces.

Originally used by Japanese anglers to document their catches before the invention of cameras, Gyotaku allows you to memorialize your own once-in-a-lifetime catches. The workshop will provide all necessary materials, including rubber fish, paint, and paper. Guests are also welcome to bring their own items to print their fish on. Please note that no live fish will be used in this program.

This program is designed to be low activity and accessible to all. Please be aware that the event is weather-dependent, so follow Huntsville State Park on Facebook for the latest updates.
