Huntsville Unites for Special Christmas Lunch for Veterans and Less Fortunate
HUNTSVILLE, TX – The spirit of Christmas giving is alive and well in Huntsville, Texas, where local businesses and community leaders are coming together to host a special Christmas lunch for the less fortunate and veteran population. The event, scheduled for December 20th at the Walker County Storm Shelter and hosted by The H.E.A.R.T.S. Veterans Museum of Texas, is a collaborative effort to provide warmth and care during the festive season.
Organized by Frank Robinson of FTC Realty and Investment, Clint Wilson of Cowboy Contractors, George Spentzos of Humphrey’s, Jared Hanson of Jolly Fox, Kurt Stevenson of Stevenson Distributing, and supported by Walker County, the lunch aims to reach out to those in need, from 11 am to 2 pm.
The idea was initially sparked by George and Jared, who approached Frank with a desire to do something meaningful for the community. Their focus was on those often overlooked during the holiday season.
Notable attendees will include Judge Steve Fisher, Trey Wharton, and other elected officials, underscoring the support of Walker County for this compassionate cause.
The lunch, prepared by Humphrey’s, will be a traditional Christmas feast, offering not just nourishment but also a sense of belonging and community during the holidays. However, the organizers emphasize that the biggest challenge is ensuring the intended guests are aware of this event. They are adopting a benevolent approach, reaching out to those in need to invite them personally.
To support the local community, First Baptist Church in Huntsville has responded to a call for assistance by offering transportation services. They are committed to helping with picking up and dropping off guests, ensuring that transportation barriers do not hinder anyone from attending various events and services.
Jared Hanson, a key organizer, encourages anyone interested in helping or needing more information to contact him directly at jaredhanson1@gmail.com or (405) 863-4029.
