Janet Niederhofer

Janet Niederhofer passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026. She was born on March 18, 1942, in Huntsville, Texas, to Robert and Cleo Rogers. Janet spent her early childhood in Huntsville, and moved to Houston in her teens, where she then graduated from Reagan High School. She furthered her education at Sam Houston State University. Janet was married to her beloved husband, Edwin, for 37 years until his passing. They had an adventurous lifestyle and collectively raised their five children. She began her career at Prudential Insurance, where she worked until she took an early retirement. Later, she returned to work managing the marina where she and Edwin lived aboard their sailboat. They spent many joyful years there. Janet had a deep love for the Lord and His creation, especially the water.

She enjoyed the beach, sailing, feeding the birds outside her window, spending time with her family, and doting on her pets…especially her beloved Yorkshire Terriers. In her later years, she made her home in Tomball, Texas, to be close to her daughter, and grandchildren. She made many fond memories in Tomball and remained there until her passing. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Cleo Rogers, and her husband, Edwin Niederhofer.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelli Ogden, her son-in-law, Keith Ogden, and her three grandchildren, Riley Ogden, Fisher Ogden, and Alex Ogden. We are forever grateful to those who loved and cared for Janet so well. Each of you had a tremendous impact on her life. A funeral service will be held to honor Janet’s life on Wednesday, August 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Blackjack Cemetery. She will be laid to rest following the service.
