Obituary
On September 19, 2026, Pete McClanahan, 86, passed away peacefully at his son’s home in Huntsville, Texas. He was married to Nancy McClanahan ((who preceded him in death) and a father to Michael McClanahan of Huntsville, Texas and Daniel McClanahan of Sealy, Texas. Pete graduated from Barbers Hill High School in Mont Belvieu, Texas and lived a full life after retiring from Texaco.
He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies and was briefly employed as a starting Marshall at Cinco Ranch Golf in Katy, Texas where he resided many years.
He enjoyed spending time with his sons and their families and especially loved playing Santa and handing out gifts on Christmas Eve. He was a kind and generous man to everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Lee McClanahan, his twin sister, Lilly Lee and their parents.
He is survived by son Michael, married to Sumantha, their children Charles Dodson of Texas City, married to Jaye; Robert of Florence, Colorado, married to Zoe; and Sara Turner of Dallas, Texas, married to Justin Turner. Also survived by his son Daniel, married to Cheryl, their children Tricia Theriot of Mont Belvieu, Texas, Justin McClanahan of Norcross, Georgia and Breanna Collins of Baytown, Texas, married to James Collins. He was blessed with 9 great grandchildren who fondly called him Grandman. His grandchildren: Sadie and Raylen Theriot, Carter and Olivia Collins, Odin, Finn and Elizabeth McClanahan, Wyatt Dodson and James Turner. Also survived by sister-in-law Rose Gural and husband Bill Gural of Fischer, Texas and their daughters, Andria Gural and Alicia Gural. Pete requested a small family graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Coldspring, Texas where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Nancy. Service will be on October 8, 2026, at 10am.
