Huntsville’s Free “Touch-a-Truck” Event Offers Educational Fun for Kids and Families

HUNTSVILLE, TX — The city of Huntsville is revving up excitement for families with its upcoming “Touch-a-Truck” event, aimed to engage children and the young at heart in interactive experiences with large vehicles. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 2023, in Downtown Huntsville, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and admission is free.

“Touch-a-Truck” will offer kids the chance to climb on, learn about, and explore a variety of large vehicles, including police cars, fire trucks, and construction vehicles. Drivers and operators of these vehicles will be present to educate attendees about the roles their machines play in the community. The event will also feature demonstrations, opportunities for photographs, and a Q&A session.

“This is a wonderful way to engage our community’s youth in learning experiences that are both fun and educational,” said an event spokesperson. “By getting up close and personal with these vehicles, children get a hands-on introduction to various professions and learn more about the machinery that helps our community function.”

How to Participate

If you own heavy equipment or specialized vehicles and are interested in volunteering to showcase them at the event, the city is now accepting registrations. Volunteers will have the opportunity to assist in demonstrations, answer questions from the public, and pose for photographs with attendees.

Registration for volunteers is open and can be completed via the following link: Register Here!
